What’s on

The planned refurbishment is well underway at Bridgwater Arts Centre and the work at Bridgwater’s Town Hall Theatre kicks off in earnest after Carnival Concerts this year.  Both buildings are being carefully and historically restored to bring new life back to them.

The Arts Centre are eagerly anticipating their full reopening this autumn and have curated an exciting and diverse lineup to kick off the new season! The much-requested Andy Fairweather Low will be making a triumphant return to the Arts Centre Theatre. Joining him for the Autumn programme will be the dynamic Hit Parade Heroes, the talented singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph, and the enchanting Jazz outfit La Vie en Rose. The newly expanded Gallery space will welcome Marko Dukta as part of SAW this September. This fantastic lineup promises to herald the return of the Arts Centre in grand style.

The Castle Bar continues to be open every Thursday evening, coming alive with a rotation of fantastic events. From lively jazz sessions and brain-teasing quizzes to soulful Acoustic nights and enlightening Music History lectures, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

This summer to support and invest in emerging Bridgwater talent the Arts Centre will be holding an open call to musicians helping them to find new audiences. To stay updated, check out their website, follow them on social media or pop into the Arts Centre.

As the works get underway at the Town Hall the annual Carnival Concerts will still go ahead followed by the Luke Jerram Gaia installation – along with it’s own programme of complementary events.

The opportunity to refurbish both historical buildings is a boon for Bridgwater. Ensuring accessibility for everyone and continuing to support the community through the arts for years to come.
