Sock It To ‘Em: Puppets With Something to Say – A super fun puppetry workshop for age 11-18
Friday 14th August, 1pm – 4pm

We’ll rescue old forgotten socks and transform them into unique characters bursting with personality!
You’ll design, build, and bring your puppet to life with dramatic moving mouths, sparkling expressive eyes, wild hair and fabulous beards, bold costumes, and every quirky detail that makes them truly one-of-a-kind.
Then it’s showtime! Give your puppet a powerful voice to shout the things we sometimes can’t.
Expect creative storytelling, fun performance games, improvisation, and plenty of laughter as we dive into themes of identity, courage, and self-expression through the magic of puppetry.

About the Artist
Mhairi is a Youth Theatre Facilitator with Somerset Youth Theatre, currently delivering sessions in Cheddar and Highbridge as part of her Early Careers Artist Placement. With a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design from Nottingham Trent University, she specialises in hands-on prop and puppet making, set design, and creative storytelling.
Mhairi is passionate about using inclusive, creative activities to build confidence, encourage self-expression, and give every voice a platform. She’s thrilled to be leading Sock It To ‘Em and can’t wait to help participants bring their bold puppet characters to life!
