Seen Together – Martin Cody

‘Seen Together’ will comprise of a single large sculpture and a number of framed
photographs.
Sitting in the front section of the gallery, ‘CrissCross Cluster’ is an example of Martin Cody’s
usual practice of building up sculpture from a number of base units made with
industrially produced materials. It is a piece that evidently derives from line drawing
together with his interest in contours, profiles, edges and intervals. It is a welded
steel sculpture that has an airiness which may be surprising,
The show will continue with a selection of images from his current project to produce
photographs using overlap in the the methods of each medium. Martin feels that
photography can be instrumental in communicating sculptural qualities rather than
merely presenting or documenting.
