Volunteers

Bridgwater Arts Centre is committed to providing the communities of Sedgemoor and the wider region with the highest quality of theatrical, artistic, creative and cultural opportunity, to engage with the Arts in its widest sense.

To do this, Bridgwater Arts Centre relies on a team of over 60 volunteers who help to run the building and service all its functions.

Volunteers are always needed for:-

Box Office duties - involves dealing with members of the public, answering the telephone, selling tickets and answering general enquiries. 

Catering and Bar - refreshments sold before and during the interval of an evening performance.

Stewarding - involves being available for half an hour before, until the end of a performance, to take tickets and see the audience to their seats. You will remain in the theatre for the duration of the performance and help clear the theatre in event of emergency.

Full safety instruction is given to all of our stewards. 

Backstage - assisting our professional technician with sound and lighting arrangements,  before, during and after performances. 

Publicity - can you help us distribute publicity to your local shops, libraries, doctors/dentists surgeries, etc.

Hospitality - providing B & B accommodation for our performers.

Maintenance Team - providing general painting and decorating skills. We would also be interested in other skills eg. carpentry, gardening etc.
