Set in a secret bar, a nightclub hidden in the forest, The Dancer and The Devil presents the story of those displaced by war, those who have had to hide, to run away from their past lives scarred by war time secrets.

Bright, sparkling and full of comic mischief The Dancer and The Devil invites you to lose yourself in a world of entertainment, the smell of wood smoke and perfume, the taste of danger, and the wild thrill of the forest.

Originally developed at BAC, The Lowry, Prema and in the woods, The Dancer and The Devil is a theatre show, a blend of showmanship and poetry mixing spectacle, narrative and dance with enthralling live music and a wild spirit.

Paul Bovett presents a portrait of Bridgwater through the years – events, buildings, people, the fair, the docks, BCL, a bit of archaeology, a few ‘before and after shots’ – with Paul’s own images supplemented by some from his father, from Mr Dimes and Paul Genge.

Attention to detail, playful audience interaction and that all important X-factor that leaves you with the feeling of witnessing the real thing have led to their performance being described as “beyond tribute”, by both audience and critics alike. Following the enormous success of their ˜Live & Dangerous” & ˜Dedication” tours, the band embarked upon their “Into the Limelight” tour to tie in with their appearance on an episode of BBC2’s ‘Arena’ documentary series of the same name. 

In 2012 the band's European tour continues to explore and celebrate the artistic and musical legacy of the hard-living, hard-rocking, yet at times surprisingly tender and romantic artist that was Philip Lynott. Expect more of the Celtic influenced tracks like ”Whisky in the Jar” and “Black Rose”, amongst the usual razzamatazz and classic tracks “The Boys are Back in Town”, “Sarah” and many others we’ve come to expect from one of the most highly rated acts on the circuit.
