ELLING (15)
A film by Peter Næss.
Nominated as Best Foreign film at the 2002 Oscars, Elling is a touching Norweigian film that may have passed you by - until now. A gentle, odd-couple comedy, the film follows the travails of two middle aged patients - the anxious, sensitive Elling and his dense, loutish room-mate Kjell - as they are released from institutional care and re-housed in a state-subsidised apartment.

"a good-natured comedy in which eccentricity is something to be cherieshed, not shunned." BBCi Films

OTWAY / BARRETT 'STRUNG TOGETHER' TOUR
John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett first achieved notoriety with an eye-watering performance on Old Grey Whistle Test and subsequent hit single 'Really Free' in 1977.

Otway's heady mix of blind ambition and rank incompetence has kept this microstar shining for almost two decades despite his ability to turn any situation to his own disadvantage. His autobiography 'Rock and Roll's Greatest Failure' out sold, by a factor of ten, all the records he had released since his hit. His second hit came only in 2002 when "Bunsen Burner" reached the UK number 9, and earned Otway an appearance on Top Of The Pops.

Wild Willy Barrett is one of the most accomplished multi-instrumentalists working today, playing acoustic classical guitar with an original style and virtuosity few could match. His musical style is witty and his humour onstage is dry. The perfect madcap musical night-out…

”D'Aiello's weighty, behind-the-beat sound shows how a poetic imagination can rekindle a long-gone style without nostalgia…” John Fordham, The Guardian

The birth in 2006 of the Renato D’Aiello International quartet has come about after a long and careful gestation. The line up has come together through a combination of old friendships and newly discovered partnerships. The band is now exploring the roots of jazz with a dynamic energy that is the synthesis of four world class and original musicians/artists, as showcased in recent release, the acclaimed ‘Sintetico’.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN (15)
With their customary wit and impeccable craftsmanship, Joel and Ethan Coen bring Cormac McCarthy’s bracing novel to the screen. In a parched and rugged West Texas landscape, three characters are embroiled in a bloody game of cat and mouse. Scooping Oscars for Best Achievement in Direction, Best Picture, Best Actor in a Supporting Role (for Javier Bardem as assassin Anton Chigurh) and Best Screenplay, the film combines indelible imagery, expertly judged pacing and note-perfect performances and the story plays out with the stature of a modern myth.
